Instrument Assisted Soft Tissue Therapy
Both Dr. Schneider and Dr. Ross incorporate instrument assissted soft tissue therapy (IASTT) into their treatment plans. This is an advanced form of soft tissue therapy that uses an instrument that enables the practitioner to efficiently locate and treat soft tissue dysfunction. This technique breaks down collagen cross-links, as well as increases blood flow and cellular activity in order to trigger an inflammatory healing response. This will stimulate the production of new collagen and will lead to more functional and less painful healing.
The benefits of IASTT treatment include faster recovery from injury, reduced need for anti-inflammatory medication, restoration of range of motion and relief from chronic pain. This technique is commonly used to treat low back pain, muscle strains, ligament strains, running related injuries, plantar fasciopathy, rotator cuff injuries, tennis elbow, carpal tunnel and more.
